Canadian Stocks Have 9-14x Liquidity of US Stocks

Though I have always known the NYSE and the NASDAQ offer greater liquidity than the TSX and OTC, I was quite surprised at the magnitude of the difference following the election.

My article published at MJBizDaily rips apart the incredible increase in dollar volume in the Canadian names following the US Election, and shows that the Canadian operators have 9-14X the average dollar volume of the US operators.

The main article only lists the totals, so be sure to download the PDFs for the detailed breakdown by company and sector of the Average Daily US Dollar Volume and post Election returns to truly see the magnitude of the difference.

Imagine the fund flows into the US operators (and potentially out of the Canadian operators) if new legislation allows the US Operators to list on the NYSE and NASDAQ.
